Whats the best way to travel around in South America?

I want to do voluntary work and travel in South America but dont know the best way of organising it?

• I am planning on going to South America next year as it is something that i have always wanted to do. I would like to travel for around 2 months there but before that i would like to do some voluntary work for about a month working with the people in South America but i dont know the best way to organise this or the best company to go through. Anyone who knows or has done anything similar i would appreciate your advice! thanks!

  As South America is quite extense, you need someone with branches everywhere and that is the Red Cross. Contact them directly, I am sure they can use more people in any of their many projects they have from buiding houses, feeding the poor, teaching in rural areas, etc.
