Where to visit and what to do in Argentina?

Is June a good time to visit Argentina?

  • Hi, I have some time off this summer and would like to visit Argentina. I know, of course, that June is early winter in Argentina, and want to make sure that it isn't insane to plan a trip there then. I want to see Buenos Aires, of course, and also would like to travel around Patagonia, as I have heard that it is beautiful. I can take the cold pretty well, as I am from Chicago, but don't want to travel if it is extremely unbearable--like 20 below zero. What do you think? Would I still enjoy myself, or should I go somewhere warmer? Thanks Eric

  • Answer:

You should definitely go!!! Winter in Buenos Aires is not that cold! Specially if you are used to Chicago weather In June its about 10 Cº (that's Celsius.. Im not sure how much Farenheit degrees) It doesn't even snow.. the colder it gets is about 1 Cº And about Patagonia, its really beautifully during winter, you can go skiing to Bariloche, Villa la Angostura, San Martín de los Andes or even Usuahia If not, Puerto Madryn is a good option too. Its by the sea and you can see whales during june (obviously is a lot colder than Buenos Aires, but totally worth it) Hope this helps!
