Study abroad- VALPARAISO, CHILE or BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA?

Argentina or Chile for study abroad?

I'm a high school senior looking to study abroad and have these options, a year in Vina del Mar or Buenos Aires. I love the big city, love the beach/surf and currently live in Los Angeles so I'm used to the city. If you've been to these places it'd help a lot with some input. Thanks

I just got back from a study abroad in Buenos Aires. I was there for 3 months and it was by far the coolest city I have ever been to. I can't wait to go back. It is full of great restaurants. And the nightclubs open at 2am and close at 7am, so the city never sleeps. If you are into drinking, partying, great food, great looking people, etc... then go there!! That being said, the city is actually located on a river (Rio del Plata). So the closest decent beaches where you may be able to surf are either in Uruguay (to the north) or a few hours down the coast of argentina. I have not been to Vina del Mar though, so this is a pretty biased response to your question. Sorry!
