What are the best and the worst areas of Buenos Aires?

IS BUENOS AIRES SAFE, CHEAP, & WORTH GOING TO FOR VACATION? WHICH IS CHEAPER & BETTER? RIO OR BUENOS AIRES?

• I plan to go to to Buenos Aires and Rio de janeiro in August and I was wondering is it dangerous there for BLACK American men? Do the women there like BLACK American men? I was wondering which one is cheaper overall and better to visit. Is it dangerous there for BLACK American men? Do the women there like BLACK American men? I've heard that Argentinians are racist against Black Americans and they don't like the Black soccer players. What is the weather like in August? Does it rain a lot? Is it hurricane season in August? I heard there was a flood in Brazil and wonder is it ok to visit in August. What is all to do there? Is it cheap there in both places. Someone told me Rio and Buenos are cheap like Thailand. Do they have a nice zoo and aquarium? Are the people hospitable towards Americans? Where do they speak English more in Rio or Buenos Aires? I'm not a trouble maker nor I don't drink smoke, and not a party person but if something was to happen to me to where I went to jail will the US help me and be notified or is it like Mexico and Japan where the US can't do anything about it? Certain countries have laws with the US where we are protected and the US can do something for us to get out of jail if an American was to get into trouble but I forget the name of this act. I I know in July is kind of cool there and in August but is it still a lot to do there on there winter? Also, someone just told me about they have a really bad flu virus breakout in Buenos Aires right now. Someone who is from there or who have experience please tell me which one should I visit and that's worth my money to travel too.. Thanks

  Buenos Aires is my favourite city in the whole world. Elegant. Wonderful food and wine. Beautiful buildings. Wide avenues and lovely parks. You can sit in a cafe for hours reading your paper and no one will bother you. It is not as cheap as it used to be, but still much cheaper than the States or Europe. You don't see many Black people in BA, I have to admit, but it certainly wouldn't be any more dangerous for you than for anyone else. Yes, there are pick-pockets, but I had my purse snatched on 5th Avenue in New York in broad daylight - so it happens everywhere. August is winter time there, but it's not that cold. Sometimes there is a frost in early moring, but gone by about 10. Rio, on the other hand, has the most beautiful harbour in the world, but the city itself isn't all that great. Cost-wise it's about the same as Argentine, but there are a lot more Black people there, so you would probably feel more comfortable. Rio is always hot. There are no hurricaines in that part of the world. Have a good trip! If you are worried about being in a foreign country, you might try registering yourself with the US consulate when you arrive. Just so they know you are there.
