Need help on foreign exchange programs.

Going to Peru for summer, do i need a vista or what and what do I do the whole summer with my time? Plz help!!?

  • Ok I've gone through the whole process of searching through foreign exchange programs n figuring things out since August of last year. Turned out the whole thing was pretty much a waste. I mean, my family seriously isn't rich, we are having financial difficulties right now. My father has no job because he was layed off last year and my mom works 2 part time jobs. Thank goodness a really good friend made it so that I could stay with her grandparents in Peru during the summer. I've kinda figured out the plane ticket, I'd like to go as cheap as possible, the cheapest I can find for the whole summer is around 800 dollars. Do I need a vista to go over there? What should I worry about going over to a new country? Most of all, what do I do with my time? I mean, I'm going to be there for three months, I've got to figure out something to do. I've thought about a job or community service but that's about it. Any info on this at all, experience or otherwise, I would really apreciate it. Please help me! I've go to figure this out asap so I can prepare

I love Peru dearly. You don't need a visa for a stay less than 90 days. 90 or more, yes need a visa. Your passport should be valid for 6 months BEFORE leaving and six months AFTER returning. What you can do whilke there depends on where you are going to be staying. Where in Peru are you going? $800 sounds a little high for a plane ticket. Are you flying into Lima first then flying into another city (Cusco, maybe)?

damn that's kind of expensive (the ticket) First where are you from depends where u form to answer if you need a visa or no. But you can try to call the peruvian embassy they can give you more info. What you can do well is really hard if you don't know a lot of people over there.. And also you did not mention what part of Peru you are going to. Lima is really dangerous too much delinquency. But Peru is really beautiful so good luck. :)
