How to address a letter to peru and the postage cost for the letter?

• I am going to boot-camp soon and want to be able to send my girl letters while im in so i was wondering exactly how to address a letter to her and how many stamps i will need for it to get to her? and how long it would take to get to her if anyone knows? Thanks.

  $0.98 for a standard letter is right. It takes about 3-5 days to get there if she's in Lima, and about 5-8 days if she's in the provinces, a little longer if she's way out there. To address it, write in English (it's the same anyhow for the address). The street number goes after the street name. The second to the last line has the name of the city, then the name of the department (like a state). Do it like this: Mary Jones Calle Sucre 12345 Callao -- Lima PERU Make sure whatever stamps you use have a money amount on them. If they just say "first class letter" or "forever" they won't work. Also, write AIR MAIL clearly and boldly on the front of the envelope. The post office needs to handle anything larger than a standard letter. New rules prohibit people from sending international mail more than a few ounces without going through the post office. If you send larger packages, there are customs forms you need to fill out and receiving it on the other end is a hassle because sometimes they ask for money.
