I need help with information about Panama's Independence day?

This event is celebrated every year with parades and festivals. The parade usually takes place in the capital of Panama, Panama City. The parade has dancers, bands, and performers. The president usually drives with the paraders and waves to the crowd. Flags are put all over the country to show patriotism. A festival is set up with games, music, and dancing. Kids and adults dress in traditional clothes like their ancestors. Games and traditional foods are also sold to commemorate Independence Day. I need enough information to make 5-6 more sentences.   Panama celebrates TWO independence days. Panama was a "Department" in the government of Colombia, which was a colony of Spain. So it celebrates, as the Colombians do, independence from Spain in 1890. Then, in 1903, when the Americans' offer to Colombia to build the Panama Canal was rejected by Colombia, the Americans talked the Panamanians into revolting against Colombia. And so Panama celebrates independence from Colombia too. Both celebrations are as you have already described, with parades and holidays from work, with most businesses closed and all government offices closed.
