How much money should I take to Panama?

• A week into the month of June, I am going on a Senior trip to Panama City beach Florida. I have to bring $225 for the hotel for a week. Taking beer money into consideration, how much more money should I bring? I need gas money, spending money and food money. With all four of these costs added onto the principal of 225, how much money do you think I will need? I'm driving from Cincinnati, Ohio. Thank you.

  First off all, you'll be spending more in gas than it would cost to fly to and from there. So unless you have a good reason to take a car, scrap that idea and fly. Yeah you'll have a car with you while you're there but... well I just think it's a bad idea. I've got over a decade on you but I still like to party and go out drinking every weekend. I went to Miami and Key West earlier this year and blew a &$%-Ton of money. I had a hard time spending less than $100 a day. This is on top of a hotel. Keep in mind that it's easy to spend $10 a meal 3 times a day. If you're going out drinking, you'll spend anywhere from $20-$80 in a single night. So I highly recommend spiking a 7-11 cup and walking the area before heading inside a single bar to get a little bit of a buzz going. So I wouldn't recommend showing up with less than $1,000 keeping in mind that you're going spend about $250-$350 on gas depending what kind of car you're going to drive. You can easily get a plane ticket for the same cost and save yourself the nuisance of a 12 hour drive each way. Hope this helps.
