How many murders are there in greensboro, nc?

On average how many murders are there in greensboro, nc every [week?] month? The reason i'm wondering is because I'm planning on visiting Guatemala City this summer, and was recently informed that I shouldn't stay there because of violence. They told me that about 5 or 6 people are murdered every day there!! so what how many is that compared to NC? I'm really scared about visiting now..

Yes, Guatemala City will have a higher murder rate than Greensboro. However, I would still go to Guate. I have friends that have lived all their lives in Guatemala City, and guess what, they are still alive!!! Most of the murders are gang on gang violence. That doesn't really impact you. There isn't much of a reason to stay a long time in Guatemala City. I would spend more time in Antigua. Antigua is very safe. Visiting Lake Atitlan is also highly recommended. Neither of the places is dangerous, as long as you are smart about what you do.

According to the "2003 FBI Report of Offenses Known to Law Enforcement" the murder rate in Greensboro was 3 murders per month. If you are scared in Greensboro, don't go to Guatemala City. If you are street smart, you shouldn't have any problems in Guatemala. Don't flash money or wear expensive jewelry. One thing that people don't think about is their laptop. Carrying a laptop case draws attention to yourself and can make you a target. I've spent a considerable amount of time in Guatemala City and NEVER had any issues. Use common sense and you'll be fine.
