  Costa Rica is a very diverse country and where to live would depend more on your interests and capability rather than a random 'best spot'. I like all the areas around the National Parks, personally. But its not cheap to live in these areas, so I probably won't be able to, but if you have lots of money, that is the way to go. Also, moving to CR isn't that easy, so you may want to check out all the legalities. I'd love to move there, but I won't be able to until retirement in a couple of decades. Its not cheap, if you live like an American, you have to prove a solid income, you can't take work away from the locals, etc. They are putting their citizens first and that's good, just makes it hard on us that would like to spend some solid time there.
