What is the best place to stay in Costa Rica for Spring Break?
-
My friends and I are going to Vegas this year for spring break since we are all finally over 21 this year. However, next year we are all going to be seniors in college and really want to have a lights out awesome spring break before we join the "real" world. Three of the four of us want to go to Costa Rica, while the other one wants to go to Honduras. What is the best place to go to in Costa Rica for a college Spring Break? A place with cool clubs, attractive women, and lots of rec activities for less than $1,750 each.

Hey Tom, How important is it to get a true taste of Costa Rica? If you’re going more to have fun than to experience the day to day lifestyle of many Costa Ricans, I’d look into Tamarindo. Tamarindo is known as a spring break vacation destination, and tends to deliver on that expectation. Clubs are in abundance, as are great restaurants with food from all over the world. If your spring break is around the time of most other colleges, Tamarindo will be full of people looking to have a good time. Tamarindo is a beach town so during the day you could try surfing, or just throwing a football around on the beach while watching bikini-clad women wander around. There are a few other beaches near Tamarindo that make good day trips (Playa Grande and Playa Avenallas). In town a few tourist centers offer trips to rainforests and volcanoes. If you’re renting a car, those are things you can do yourself also. Among fancy hotels and vacation houses, Tamarindo has a bunch of decent hostels that will help you save some money. If you eat at some of the more local restaurants you can save a little money there too. If Tamarindo isn’t sounding great, you could consider Jaco, Montezuma or San Jose. Jaco and Montezuma are also beach towns. Jaco is touristy and Montezuma is not as touristy. San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and resembles many big cities. I wouldn’t recommend spending your spring week there when you could head to the beaches. Where ever you decide- have a great time!

If you really want a "Lights Out" parting good time, Jaco is the place to go. It has everything from great recreations, like ziplinning and river rafting, to sportsfishing, eco-tours, surfing, gambling, great food (from high class restaurants, to tiny taco stands) , to nightlife action (music, dancing, women) that you will in no doubt remember for the rest of your lives. Google Jaco, and you will see. Have a great time next year!
