Is June a good time of year to visit Costa Rica?

  • My friends and I are looking to visit Costa Rica this year. The second half of June is what works best for all of us. I'm wondering how the climate generally is that time of year. According to google, it's hot and always raining- is this the case?

    The rains tend to come in downbursts and are then gone. Think of a torrential downpour for 10 minutes, then nothing, but this might happen 6 times a day.

I don't know why google would say, "always raining." June is a relatively good month to go to Costa Rica. (October is the HEAVY rain month.) Temperatures and climate depend more on altitude than on the season. So if you're going to be more on the beach than inland, yes it will be hotter. Where I have a home there (near Platanillo/Perez Zeledon), I definitely have to cover myself at night 'cause it does get chilly.
