How much does it cost to go to Japan for 2 weeks?

Would you rather go to Japan or Costa Rica?

I belong to two clubs. One club is going to japan for 2 weeks and the other club is going to costa rica for 2 weeks. I cant do both because they are at the same time. Going to japan cost 2700 while going to costa rica cost 2200. If I go to japan i will go to school for a week (which i think would be pretty cool). I love beaches and I loved the Bahamas. But I think the culture in Japan would be overwhelming.
