What are the chances of me getting hired?

What are the chances of me getting hired by a calling center in Costa Rica?

  • My cousin said I can get a job there since I speak English fluently. He said i would have to get permission to work and whatever (I'm a US citizen). I'm only 19 and have only had one job in retail. What are the chances a company would hire me? I don't speak Spanish that well. Would that mess up my chances?

  • Answer:

You cannot work in any foreign country if you are a US citizen unless you have a work visa. You must consult with Costa Rican immigration and do any paperwork/procedures that enable you to receive a permit to work. This is a lengthy process. If you want a work visa, you must get started on the process now, as Costa Rican bureaucracy is not as fast as American bureaucracy.

make sure that you are committed. You can get the job, but like someone else mentioned you need to spend a little time to get a work visa.

You can't work (legally) in CR on a tourist visa. I would try to get hired at one of the books (places that take online bets for sports). Spanish isn't needed, most of the people that call in are from the US.

...of getting laid? absolutely.
