Where are the best clothing stores in Philadelphia?

Does anyone know where I can find some Plus Size Stores in or around San Jose Costa Rica?

  • Hi, I currently relocated to San Jose, Costa Rica from Philadelphia PA and i am on a hunt from Plus Size (BBW) Clothing Stores. I have only found one so far called "Big Mama" which honestly i wasnt that thrilled with. Does anyone know where I can find a few BBW or Plus Sized Stores around here?? I wear sizes 26-30 depending on cut & style. Thanks!! Oh I also looked at international shipping sites and all I have come across so far is Igigi.com & Torrid.com. If you know any other sites that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!!

    Yamuni. There are two or three stores in San José. One is on Avenida 10. You drive past the park, La Sabana and turn left on Ave 10. Then it is one to three blocks on the right hand side. The other Yamuni is also in San José. I cannot remember the name of the road but it is the one that goes past the University of Costa Rica on the way to Cartago. Any taxi driver knows the two Yamuni locations. Another suggestion is to find a good seamstress. There are all kinds of fabrics in "tiendas" and there are many ladies that can make you something just from a picture. Do not go to just anyone, get to know people that go to "costureras" which means seamstress in English. La Gloria is also located in San José and may have some clothes.

I currently live in Costa Rica, so I could give you a few names of some stores in San Jose if you want. And for "Say no to Islam": She was asking for plus size stores, not for weight loss. JERK

With a population of only 5 million, and 80% of the folks on the plateau, there are not a lot of what we consider specialty shops in Costa Rica. You can find plus sizes in some of the regular stores, but it is a rare thing as you have found. There was one at the mall in San Jose, but that was several years ago. Good luck on your search and if you ask politely with some small talk before had, I am sure other persons of substance would be happy to share where they shop, even to strangers on the street.
