What is the best hotel in Costa Rica?

What's the best hotel near the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica?

• We're flying to San Jose, Costa Rica with 2 little kids and are arriving late in the evening. I want to go to a decent reliable hotel that's close to the airport. I was thinking of the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose, though it's a little expensive... Any recommendations?

  Yes, the Costa Rica Marriott is 15 Minutes from the airport bit very expensive. Just 5 Minutes from the airport there is a Hampton INn & Suites (apartments) or the Garden Court (used to be Hampton Inn). Melia Cariari or Ramada Herradura are also 15 Minutes. They are both reliable and not too expensive. Also there are some small locally owned hotels near the airport as Mango Hotel, Hotel Aeropuerto, and some in the city of Alajuela. But if you want to go with something of US Standars, go with the two mentioned. Good luck!
