Where to go for a holiday for 3 best mates?

Where is Cheap, fun and a good holiday? Me and 2, possibly 3 friends of mine are planning an after exam holiday, after the end of your final year of uni. We would like to go somewhere inside the EU as we are from the uk and it makes it easy for us, my friend does speak spanish and one of them is spanish, BUT we dont want to go to spain as it is my friends homeland and isn't that exciting for her. We Also do not want to go to ibiza as we are students, and do like to party but we dont really want to on this holiday. We have some requirements/liked things for us to do: we would like somewhere relatively cheap as we are students somewhere off the tourist trail as we can have our adventures, but somewhere close to a tourist area where we can have a drink like a local bar. somewhere picturesque so I can do some of my photography, landscape and life drawings and General artwork. The girls would like somewhere they can relax, (beach or mountain ranges ) Shop, We don't mind hot or cold places, as we love both. Somewhere different and not really on the tourist trail! Any ideas are welcome, anyone who has had experiences themselves very welcome! cheers in advance!

Hello! I would suggest Sardinia in Italy, as long as you don't go in August is off the tourist trail, fairly cheap and all you ask to see and do: mountain, villages, beaches and the most amazing sun and light if you love photography. The island is not so big so you can rent a car and travel around or just stay in one area and go from there. I suggest the south east.
