I am thinking of ether going to Spain or Argentina for a year to force myself to learn spanish. I am favoring Spain and i am just wondering how the majority of the locals treat a dumb american (lol) like me who is trying to learn spanish. I have heard wonderful things about it and i am hoping they are all true so if anybody has experience i would like to hear

Answer:
Nobody will consider or call you dumb just because you don't speak Spanish. The Spaniards are very warm and friendly, but be prepared to follow their strange meal schedule: dinner starts at 11 PM! On the other hand, if money is a concern (it is for most of us), Buenos Aires would be a better choice; everything is much cheaper than in Europe and there is an Italian flavor (something like 65-70% percent of the population has Italian roots).
