Great cafés and food in Paris?

"street food" in paris?

  • i'm going for a holiday in paris and would like to have some food recommendations... i'm a budget traveller so i don't have a lot of cash to spare for fancy french cuisine, but i was wondering what are some sort of french "street food" that the locals eat on daily basis? kinda like the local cuisine... oh, and where can one find the best of that? (if you know). if not, just the names of the food items would be more appreciated! thank you very much! :)

    mmm i saw your other question on Brussels, you are a lucky lady to be travelling you will have a fabulous time, (I used to live in Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, Le Havre, Lille, .. oh and a couple of places in Holland and Portugal) you will have a great time, you can find GOOD food for little money from the street vendors in Paris and Brussels, (brussels has lots of 'Fritteries') and Paris has lots and lots of all kinds of international food, (the small thai 'takeaways' are great) and of course the crepes, I don't think you can go far wrong, (there is the best waffle place off the grand place in Brussels by the galleries 'shopping center' ...it is 'special' and not expensive) (sorry you closed the Brussels question and you don't allow email!! ;-) ) anyways good luck and enjoy the lovely food and people!! xxx

Well i have been to paris 2 times.... they sell very good food on the streets like.... -crepes -chesnuts -pretzels -coffee -snails....(es cargo) and lots of other good foods to fill your appitite

its a shame that you cant go to the fancy ones because that is where the best french food IS!!!! but the street food it ok there too. they have crepe's and baguettes (TONS OF BAKERYS) that you can always pick up a snack. if you go to museums such as the lourve then there is a great sandwich place there. there is great food everywhere

well as you know here in the u s of a the cheapest food is street food otherwise known as road kill

You can use crepes, chesnuts, pretzels etc
