    I'm an army brat, and I spent 16 years of my life growing up in Germany. And I'm excited because I'm going back in a few weeks! Anyways, the weather over there is no joke. If you're not used to a lot of snow, it may take a little while for you to adjust. It tends to be very cold, but mid day is usually bearable outside. Most major cities have a Christmas market, which consists of a bunch of outdoor kiosks with different items to purchase. My favorite Christmas Market is in Nurenburg, where I'm from. You could easily spend an entire day wandering around the market, without even having bought anything. When you get chilled, most places sell Gluehwein, which is wine heated up.....warms you up right away! And they also have warm wine for kids, non-alcoholic of course. Christmas in Germany is celebrated on Dec. 24th, which is our Christmas Eve. If you don't speak German, don't worry-majority of Germans speak English. It is a requirement for them to learn it in school (I know because I WENT to a German school), so don't be afraid to stop and ask someone a question. I hope this helped!!! i would say its quite traditional..the foods diffent abit like they like their spiced cookies and beer...they have german xmas markets prior to the big day which are fun. they are more natural with their decorating and light up with candels.
