Good place to live in Europe?

  • I live in NYC now with my mom, but we are leaving as right after I graduate from HS this year because we don't have a green card. We are gonna move to Europe cuz I'm a Portuguese citizen. However, I don't want to live in Portugal....so I'm wondering. Where is a good place to live in Europe? I still need to go to college, so a place with good education and good jobs would be the best. Please give me an idea since I've never been to Europe so Idk which place is a good place to live.

    It depends on your language skills. Be aware that in Southern Europe English skills are very low, I actually once experienced in Italy that a girl who worked at a hotel didn't understand English. In Northern Europe, English skills are generally better. If you want to study there, you might be interested in finding somewhere where they give courses in English. Of course, UK and Ireland are natural choices, but you might also find that universities in countries where English is not the first language will offer at least some courses where they teach in English, at least this is the case in my own country, Norway (e.g. the University of Bergen).

What wouldn't you want to live in Portugal? It's a lovely country, great people, lovely cities ... and nice warm weather. What's not to like? Been there twice. Dearie, every European country has a high standard of education. But very few places have 'good jobs' in the current economic climate. Sorry I can't give you the answer you want, I'm just being realistic.

Maybe in London ( cause they speak english), umm Oslo, idk I visit Serbia every summer and I love it there but they speak serbian and Idk if you will learn the language, but there people are really smart (Like Nikola Tesla was serbian ( the first inventor of the fist light bulb. his monument is found in Niagara falls on the Canadian side)) and I lived there for a year and there the schools are sooo hard. Serbia is found in the Balkans.
