What is the impact of Croatia on the EU?

As a Canadian citizen, after exhausting my 3 months in EU/Schengen zones, could I go to Croatia?

What I really need to know is if Croatia is in the EU or Schengen agreement. I am allowed 6 months in the UK but have exhausted my 90 days in the EU/Schengen. I keep getting the runaround from various embassies and high commission and cannot get a straight answer. I just want to get to Dubrovnik without any problems! Thanks

if you only want to go to Dubrovnik I'd reconsider. It's a very crowded place, with not much to do after 1st day unless you want to lay around. And it's quite far down south (aprox. 12 hours from Slovenia).
