If you use a site that scans for the cheapest tickets, like Skyscanner, you can select the airport nearest to you, but you can also search on a bigger area, and include flights from Manchester or even London. An other 'cheap' option it using Eurolines, and doing it all by coach. But count on 24 hours or more in the bus, it is even likely that you will have to travel two nights to get there. Walking itself, or riding a bicycly, will cost you less in transport cost, as you will only have to pay for the ferries, but it will take forever and you will have to keep yourself fed, and more costly, you will have to pay for places to sleep while traveling.
