What are some places of interest in Switzerland?

Is it me or switzerland is one of the most depressing boring places in the world?

  • I lived in the USA (both east coast and west coast) I lived in Mexico I lived in Colombia I lived in Germany I lived in France I lived in Netherlands I lived in Belgium and now....... I am living in Switzerland! To be honest I have yet to find a country so boring and hard to adapt as Switzerland, I have been here two months and I already sick of it, it's just so dull!!! people have no interest in interacting with you, nightlife is almost non-existant, the architecture that it's so wonderful and interesting in other european countries here in Switzerland seems to be replaced by the ugly view of gray bauhauses full of people living in them. To make matters worst, if you wanna go shopping they close everything at 7pm and after 7pm you will not see a single soul on the streets!!!! I have yet to really feel at home in this place, it feels like I am on a really boring expensive never ending vacation. oh and don't even mention prices, for a pound of tomatoes and two onions you pay almost 15 swiss francs, if you cross the border to france u pay for the same thing about 6 euros!

  • Answer:

No dear, it's not just you; Switzerland is indeed horribly boring almost depressing! the mountains, the lakes are quite beautiful, but the people ruin everything, they are so closed and introverted you almost feel like you're going crazy. I don't like Switzerland and I live in Geneva and I really HATE IT, it can be beautiful at first but after the first month you really become depressed because there is absolutely nothing to do other than going to the mountains and going to the lakes! I always go to France, Lyon is not too far, everytime I go there I feel like I am alive once again! Then I am back to Geneva and I feel like this dark cloud just posed on top of me! I HATE SWITZERLAND!

Are you Lybian or related to Colonel Gaddafi by any chance? I may be biased since I am part Swiss but it is definitely not the most boring place in the world. There is plenty of beautiful places to explore if you enjoy outdoor activities and lots of pretty women to look at. I have spent time in all the countries you have lived in and would have to say that Germany and Belgium are definitely more boring that Switzerland and France and Colombia are my favourite places.

No sweetheart is not you the problem, I completely agree with you. I have live in many places and Switzerland is the most depressing one, people are definitely dull and they do not like to interact with people they do not know. Yes I was impress stores close at 7pm and even earlier on Saturdays, not many people go to the movie theaters. The weather is awful, gray most of the time. It is a very beautiful country but personally I do not like the environment.

How can anyplace by itself become boring I wonder are you alone? What about books newspapers TVs other entertainments? Regarding cost of living nothing I know and also about switzerland except the climate which is as good as in India and alps mountain Hmmm.Well if you don't like then what hell that prevents you from getting rid of it?

It's you. You're probably poor in one of the most expensive countries in the world. There are great places in Switzerland, you may be in what is not the most exciting town of all but if you find people dull, probably they find you dull too. And if you hate it... move somewhere else.

You've obviously never been to Poland!
