German exchange program, can you find it?

A friend (much older than me) told me that she did a German exchange program and she had a guest family & etc and it was free and that I have to search for it at the German government site or something, but I can't find it. I doubt it's free, but that's what she said :/ maybe it was free. I really want to go to Germany to improve my German :). Thanks.

Maybe your friend's parents paid for her trip but i doubt it was free...there are certainly scholarships/grants to help you get over there. good luck! I speak german btw so if you have any language related questions feel free to ask
