Dear Naomi: Good for you! Millions of people want to do this too. Have you planned anything out, yet? Days of just flying into Europe with NO Plan Are OVER! Make a Plan & Work The Plan! Surf the Youth Hostel Sites. Have you ever considered "Couch-Surfing"? Here is a link. Register for it! http://www.couchsurfing.org/ This is NOT a "Dating" site. Re; "How much money" to take? A word of Caution! Keep Euro Cash to a minimum! (Like 100 Euro.) Utilize a Debit/Credit Card when you travel in Europe! Your card can access an ATM Network in Europe. You will require several thousand Euros to last 6 months. Europe is Expensive. The more money you have, the better. I would NOT count on making any cash monies while you tour. European Citizens are out of work. You are low Priority! Good Luck~ Have Fun~ Be Safe~ Always Know Exactly where you are going!

This is a great deal more complex than you realise. Most of Europe uses the Euro, but some countries (like the UK) don't. So you will need different money for different countries. As for working, you would need a visa. One for each country.
