What are some good unique places to visit in Europe?

Good places to visit in Eastern Europe? Also how is this itinerary for a Europe trip?

  • I'm from India and planning a trip to Europe in May. This is my tentative schedule. What do you guys think? Also somewhere I want to fit in around 5-6 days in Eastern Europe. Where do I visit? Poland? Slovenia? Bosnia? 5th May : Leave india for london 6th-9th: london plus other places in england 10th: leave for amsterdam 10th and 11th in amsterdam 12th: leave for germany 12th-14th in germany 15th leave for italy 15th-19th in italy 20th leave for france 21st and 22nd in france return to england on 23rd since its only 18 days maybe add one more day in italy and one day in switzerland.

  • Answer:

You have way to much planned for too short a time. London alone, without jetlag will take more than 3 days. Add an other day as it is the start of your travels, you will suffer from having been on a flight and you will need to deal with practical details. England can not be seen in a few days either, and basically that goes for all the destinations you mention. And for most travels you will loose half a day at least, up to a full day or an evening and the next morning for an overnight travel. This way you will just remember the inside of the train, or the inside of the airport. You will be much better of by selecting one or at most two countries and spend your time there, Half your time in the cities, the other half exploring the countryside. DO NOT add more to this already overcrowded schedule.

depends what you want- croatia has an amazing coastline; Slovenia has mountain scenery and Ljubljana is a hugely underrated destination; Bosnia is probably the most interesting culturally and historically but is quite a bit rougher. Otherwise Prague is an amazing city to visit but heaving with tourists and Budapest is nice but the food isnt wonderful and neither the Czech rep nor Hungary are particularly amazing geographically, though the high tatras in Slovakia are impressive
