How much would an average trip around Europe cost?

Roughly how much would this 'backpacking' trip cost around Europe?

  • So we are planning on going from London(no expenses here apart from food or sightseeing) to France, up to Amsterdam, down to Belgium, past France again and down to Spain & probably gonna get a train back up to London. All in about a month. How much do you think that would cost if we just rough it out and go for the cheapest places and food, while still experiencing great things. thanks

  • Answer:

Well, there are various possibilities for your trip. If you are going to use the fast Eurostar train from London to Paris, it'll cost about €50 each, by bus maybe 20-30. Same for going to Amsterdam and then to Belgium. Then from Belgium through france to Spain, it will be around €150 for a train, 50 for a bus. And train back to London would be at least €150, so I'd avise using a plane here, as they are cheaper. Then for the general expenses for food/hotel/fun, count on approximately 25-45 euros per day, depending on the season.
