  • Answer:

It's very artsy, but without all the pretentiousness of London, and people are much friendlier than they are in the UK. There are loads of museums and galleries to visit, i don't know so much for other interests, i only there for an art college trip, i would say it is a little cheaper than UK but not a huge amount

I've been to Berlin once and found it to be a fantastic city with friendly people. The city welcomes tourists from all countries. It's a really great place to visit if you enjoy modern history, there are lots of things to see and visit. Getting around is really easy to as there is metro system that is very easy to use and get to the main places, although it's a good city to explore on foot. What I really liked about the city was the contrasting architectural styles between east and west. When I visited I stayed in an AO Hostel in Boxhagener Strasse. It was reasonably priced, clean, tidy and does private rooms as well as dorms. I really liked the area and found it easy to explore on foot, plus it's really close to the metro station. http://www.aohostels.com/en/berlin/?gclid=CJK9xsrGnZ8CFUgA4wodXRNkIw I think it would be expensive there if you are from the UK, just because of the exchange rate between the Pound and the Euro, but I found it reasonable when I visited. I found Berliners to be great people. I also met alot of people who spoke English and helped me find places. Most of the foot outlets I went to had English speaking staff and those that didn't speak English really tried to help me out. I tried out some of my rusty German where possible. I've no experience of other German cities so I can't comment on that.
