Europe trip - how much money do i need?

• Hey guys, I'm travelling to Europe from early July-late September next year. For the first month I'll be staying with a friend in Switzerland and traveling around the country with her and i might also fly to Greece for a week if i can get any cheap flights at that time. A friend of mine will be flying in from Australia in early august to travel with me for the remainder of the trip. We are contemplating buying global passes for 2 months because we want to see as many countries as we can during our trip. We don't mind roughing it for the few cities that we'll only be spending a couple of days in. I've worked out a rough itinerary and will be spending longer periods in Paris, Berlin, Rome, Amsterdam and Bordeaux and want to splurge a bit more for those cities so we can recuperate in between our hectic traveling and sight-seeing and because I'm more familiar with those places as i have been there before. Anyway I just want to know how much money we will need to save. I've personally got enough now for my flights and global pass so all I need to save for is accommodation and spending money and maybe a couple of flights within the continent. I have 8 months to save and plan the trip and was just wondering how much I should focus on saving and if anyone knows any good sites for cheap hostels. The countries we're planning on travelling through are: Austria, Czech Republic, Poland (which we will have to buy extra train tickets for), Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy. any feedback would be much appreciated.
