What can i do in Iceland. Im going there in Jan with my boyfriend and want tips. Places to go, things to see!

Go on see the glaciers & go on A skidoo. quite expensive but well worth it. Also go see some of the geysers, if you go soon you may get to see the aurora borealis. Also go to the blue lagoon, a natural thermal outside of reykjavik.

iceland is amazing! I went in may though so it'll be so different now... go to the blue lagoon, even though its a bit commerical its really nice to float around in the hot water and be surrounded by snow (it was still cold when i was there!). Party it up in Reykavik, i suggest buying a bottle of duty free alcohol and having a few drinks before you go out as it can be expensive. talk to some locals to find out the best places to go! the majority of people speak really good english definitely go somewhere where you can see the northern lights, its one of the wonders of the world and i'd like to go back just so i can see them. Other than that try some of the skiing or snowmobiling or dog sledding thats on offer. Dress warm and have lots of fun!

Take plenty of cash, its well expensive!!!!

See Thingvellir, the traditional location of the Icelandic Parliamet in the Atlantic Rift. Geysir is worth seeing and if you're on a tour, they may take you to Gulfoss waterfall, which is also worth seeing. You're may also get to see the Northern Lights. The Blue Lagoon is the famous thermal pool but there are cheaper one dotted around Reykjavik that are just as good.

It depends on how far you want to go, I mean to you just want to be around Reykjavík or go maybe to the north or the east part also. You have to go to the blue lagoon, because you can't go to iceland without going there. Although it's commercial, it's awesome. There is a lovely diner there so after you've been in the blue lagoon you can dine there. You can go to place "Perlan" you won't have a hard time finding it. It's like a boob, hehe on a hill. But it's lovely. It is a restaurant, but it's really expensive so if you aren't rich I would go there at daytime and you can look around, and see the view over Reykjavík. You need to see the geysers, although it's more fun in the summer. Go to see the glaciers, if you are willing to go to the east, go to a place called Höfn, there is a glacier exhibition, it's fun to check that out. There from you can also go to the biggest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull. If you are willing to go to the north go to a place called Húsavík, because there you can see the whales someone mentioned here before me, and there is also the penis museum, a collection of animal penises. There isn't a human penis just yet, but the man who collected all these penises has said that when he dies he wants that his penis to be added to the collection. Nice...! Hehe it's ridicules but the only penis collection in the world. I think. It's called "Reðursafnið" in icelandic. You have to go clubbing, in downtown Reykjavik, if you want to get to know icelanders. Ask some people you meet where to go. Then if you get lucky you will see the aurora borealis. Don't get your hopes up high. But if the weather forecast says it's going to be really cold, minus something, and clear sky it's very likely you'll see them.
