What are dual Sim cards?

What's the scoop on international calling cards and/or Sim cards to call America from the Netherlands?

  • I have just bought a pre-paid Vodafone but the rates to call home (America) are still very high (.75 Euro a minute). I was curious as to what is the beneficial (cheap and effective) way to call home. I have heard of really low phone cards and was wondering if there were any drawbacks and then how I would go about using it. In addition I've heard of SIM cards. Between these and calling cards which would be better? And finally, I was told that I need to unlock my phone for SIM cards, what's that about and would also have to to use international phone cards correct? Thanks.

  • Answer:

You should get a Netherland SIM card from RebelFone, you can use your own un-locked cell phone. It is specially designed for travelers, without any contract and calling back home should be something line .80cents (which is lesser than .75 Euro) The best part is that you pay in local USD, instead of Euros.
