How do I obtain Atomic (Skiing) Stickers?

What preparations do I need to make to take my car to Europe from UK (i.e. headlights, GB stickers, etc)?

  • I've heard that I need to obtain special headlights for my car when travelling to Europe, and also GB stickers? Is this the case, and do I need anything else? I'm guessing these things can be obtained from Halfords or other auto shops?

  • Answer:

There are different requirements for different Countries. All will need h/light beam adjusters, country of origin ( GB sticker or end label on number plate). Some require first-aid kit and warning triangle. All depends where you're going. And as Scott says, make sure you have Insurance Cover, recovery and travel insurance. All very costly without.

not speacial headlights... just beam benders, a stick on, fresnel type lens. - should cost about £5 a GB sticker... Your travel company (ferry service, whatever) may provide these free... If not they cost about £1 some countries require spare lamps for your lights, a medical kit, a warning triangle. check with the ferry company or travel agent.. best thing is to take the lot triangle £7 - ish, medical kit (basic) £5 spare lamps (kit) £5 all available at any car shop or store

Relevent insurance, roadside assistance, adjust h/lights for driving on right & carry extra bulbs. also carry id for yourself in case of being stopped, take your spare keys with you, you never know what can happen. Drive safely Good luck & enjoy yourself

If you're driving a UK car in Europe you need to have a reflective jacket (one of those horrible luminous green things!) You need to wear this if your car breaks down while you're waiting for help. You also need a warning triangle (some countries now want you to have 2) A kit with spare lamp bulbs and fuses, a first aid kit and a GB sticker if your numberplate doesn't have GB on it. You need to buy special stickers to put on your lights because your lights will shine slightly to the left. You can buy all of this stuff in auto shops or Halfords.

Oh, I allways thought the UK is part of Europe! Sorry to be mistaken! The GB sign is only neede if you dont have the licens plate with the European flag and th GB sign on it. You have to have to have a first aid kit plus one emergency triangle (Spain two) in the car. For the driver also a reflecting security vest. Thats all. But to be sure, ask one of the automobile clubs. They can give you the answer correctely and specified for the country/counties you plan to travel to and through. Enjoy your vaccation!
