France is awesome and rather cheap! Les Deux Alps is a great place and quite cheap. Some great runs and great night life too. BUSC(british university ski clubs) go there so check when they are there, I think it's March and avoid it! It is rather messy and busy around that time of year!!! I would also say, it's not great for snowboarders and there are quite a few paths, so not nice for boarders! Alpe D'Huez, isn't too far from Deux Alps and is also a great resort to visit. Cheap and good runs. Both resorts are quite short transfer times from the airports too. La Plagne is also a great resort and quite cheap. Great for beginners/inter and have some really great ski schools. La Plagne is linked to Les Arcs via the Vanoise express(a double decker ski lift!), which is also truly awesome and quite good value for money! My absolute favourite has to be Tignes. Not that great for beginners, but the green slope for beginners means you don't need a lift pass. They have some really great ski schools here too. It's not that cheap but it really is awesome snow conditions! It's not the most attractive place so don't expect chocolate box chalets!! But really, who goes on a skiing holiday to look at architecture!?!?!? One thing I would say is for all these resorts is to check out their piste maps before you go to check expanse and runs etc, to make sure they are suitable for your level. If you need anymore advise, e-mail me! ARGH, Have an awesome time!!!!! I can't wait to get away and I look every day at ski deals and I've just recently taken my board out from under my bed and out of hibernation!!!!

France is good although expensive if your looking for the best of the best than the 3 valleys is your best bet but they can be expensive i recon you should check out Snowcoach who do good short breaks and 1 week holidays if you do get the 3 Vally's go for the full area pass which includes (Meribal Corshval and Val Theons(i think that's right)) also if your going mid season Austria is good if you want a good family resort and don't mind self catering check out mgs ski for Val Cenis good luck

For cheap skiing look farther east than the Alps. The mountain resorts of Czech republic, Poland and Slovakia are still a lot cheaper and almost as good and as much fun I have been told. I am sure there are more resorts farther to the south too, but I am not familiar enough with them to even name the countries.

Switzerland. there's a place called.. um.. CUBE... it looks like a giant ice cube. its got a ski slope right next door and LOADS of things to do. and its aimed at the younger market so not over priced at all. we stopped there for a drink last winter. looked fab!!
