When is the cheapest time during the summer to fly to Europe?

Travelling to Europe next summer for the first time...!?

  • I am 18 and Next summer 2012, I am planning on travelling Europe. I plan on staying in hostels and keeping this trip as low cost as possible. Do you think it is possible to save enough money starting now to make this trip possible? I have two jobs and am planning on working full time. And how much (about) would the total cost of this trip be? I would only like to visit Italy and France, so I won't be going around all of Europe either. Also any travelling trips would be awesome! thanks :)

  • Answer:

Yes, if you live at home with family and work full time and save most of your money, Europe will be within your means. I've been to Paris, and it's quite expensive, and I imagine that Rome would be, too. So, start saving your money, because food, souvenirs, admission tickets, subway/taxi, etc. won't be as cheap as you'd like. Save though, because it's totally worth it. :) Keep checking air prices weekly (it's either Tuesday or Wednesday that they do promotions, but I can't remember!) late this fall/early winter to see if you can get a cheap(ish) plane ticket. I bought mine for London in late winter '09 (to travel in June 09) and got my ticket for around $650. I'm putting a link below that you should check out. I love it, and if my husband and I go back next summer I'm probably going to use this site, because it helps you with multi-city stops, hotels, and trains!
