Best place for young couples to go on Holiday?

Where should two women go on holiday in Europe for sun, culture and other groups of friends in their 20s/30s?

  • We are two friends both in our late twenties who have both recently split up from long term relationships and need to cheer ourselves up! We want to go on holiday (ideally to Europe) around May time, to somewhere with sunshine and great beaches, good nightlife (but not manic ravey type nightlife), that won't be full of families, couples or lairy 18 year olds. I.e. somewhere where other groups of friends about our age are likely to go. A bit of culture and interesting stuff to do, plenty of sun and sand, and some nice eateries, bars (karaoke?!) and the odd club. Somewhere where we won't be the only group of friends in a place full of couples or families. Anyone know of anywhere like this?

    i reckon Ibiza..thats full of life and clubs etc., and you can also get some culture if you travel a little further afield than San Antonio..which is the heart of the party scene. not sure how hot it will be there in may though, warm maybe. the canary islands would be hotter..and thats another alternative for you! - have a good holiday!

Almost all along the Med qualifies. In May, Italy is great.(You'll run into lots of American couples and Japanese tour groups, maybe a few families with very young children. The big summer crowds of partying students and families with school kids have not yet arrived.) The weather is just awesome at this time and just about warm enough for a dip into the water or sunbathing. You could tour the whole country, thus getting the best of everything. Hang out at the beach in Sicily or Rimini, see Venice, Florence, Rome, .... Hey gals,try the Greek islands.Crete wud be popular with the beaches,nightlife..beautiful place, lotsa single people in their 20's too or perhaps Gran Canari islands.Both places u can have the best of nightlife & wonderful beaches. :) Happy hunting!If u want somewhere really differently, head down to South east asia instead.Try the islands of Malaysia.We love it there.

try almeria in Spain. you have access to lots of places, good bars, places to eat and not deffo NOT benidorm

My friend swears by barcelona.... beaches, loads of culture and a very friendly city by all accounts! AND most airlines do cheap deals there!!

I would go too Malaga, your pretty much guranteed sunny weather at that time of year, its a beautiful city, great picasso, museum. If you go to one of the Costa Del Sol resorts, you'll be guranteed the nightlife your looking for. I would imagine in May there will be mostly a mixture of couples, groups of friends and adult families. You won't have many kids around in May as they are no longer allowed to be taken out of School.

The best place by far is Greece Mykonos, Crete, Rodos, Corfu, Paros and hundrends of more beautiful islands wait for you.
