What French cities do you recommend to visit?

Can you recommend some European cities for me to visit?

  • I'm from Ireland and I love visiting new cities! I've already visited Barcelona, La Rochelle, Cologne, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Oxford, Glasgow, Brussels and Tallinn. Out of them Tallinn, London, La Rochelle, Barcelona, Edinburgh and Brussels were my favourite. I love visiting new cultures, pretty cities and new countries. I like big, busy cities but I'm open to visit anywhere as some places I've visited which were small were great! Anyway from your experience where would you recommend? Preferably not the U.K. just to let you know as I've been there too many times! Thanks! :)

Sarajevo. It is in an absolutely beautiful natural setting, surrounded by the Dinaric Alps..it held the Winter Olympics in the 80's. It was completely destroyed and bombed out by the Serbs in the 1990's, and it's amazing to see how fast it has recovered and today the city is growing really quickly, so is tourism. I personally think it's the prettiest capital in Europe. But here are pictures of it, you can decide for yourself http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.181692178525645.44874.120420734652790 edit: Also I forgot to mention Dubrovnik...I hear it's beautiful but I have never been there..just google it, looks amazing.

Well fella you have put some great places on the list of cities you have visited, and everyone else has given great answers. All i can say is put Prague and Kiev on your wish list of places to visit.

Paris. You'll love it. The people are quite rude, but the views of the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame and Disney Land make up for that :D

I thought Venice would be tacky and touristy but I absolutely loved it. A place everyone should visit once in their life, it's very easy to get away from the touristy bits too.

Stockholm :)

Paris is beautiful, the architecture is amazing, you go from typical city to these little side streets which haven't changed for decades. Sacre Coeur is definitley worth a visit as well as Notre Dame. Obviously you have to give the Eiffel Tower a visit too.

Venice, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen. These are some of my favourite cities. Vienna is high on my list of places to visit, but I cannot recommend it as I haven't been there yet.

Graham, my favourite city is Florence. Beautiful architecture, fabulous food, friendly people and incredible art. If you haven't already been, I thoroughly recommend it.

I'd reccomend to you Paphos in Cyprus. It's great! It's lively and has a lot of modern fun stuff to do whilst being full of beautiful historic sights if your into that.
