What is the consequence of being caught travelling withou a visa in Schengen countries?
-
I come from China and I have a type-D national visa of Austria. I know it's illegal to travel to other Schengen countries with this visa. But I heard that the border check is not that frequent if I travel on land (by train or bus), so I am considering taking the risk. Anyone has an idea what the consequence is if I get caught on a train from Germany to France? Will I be repatriated to China or Austria? How much is the fine? I will be on the blacklist, right? Thanks.

Answer:
You would probably be fined, repatriated to China and your passport would be stamped to prevent you from returning to the Schengen zone for several years.
