Passport Control in Frankfurt or Krakow?

How strage, we just moved from Las Vegas to Hungary two weeks ago. We did pass through Frankfurt on our last leg into Hungary. There wasn't really a passport control in Frankfurt, it's mush worst then that. We were very lucky not to miss our connecting flight to Budapest since their second security in frankfurt took so very long. After being air sick for hours and then landing in Frankfurt, we had to walk all over the airport and stand in a very long line to have a second security check with them not having us take off our shoes but instead go through our carry on bags and having us pass through a metal detector or wahtever it's called. After that we had to go on an elevator and then again walk all over the airport to find our gate. We were lucky the flight had been delayed since with only had a bit over an hour to get on board. It wasn't fun and seemed unneeded since we were still in route and hadn't left the airports since Vegas. I now remember why I don't enjoy passing through Germany, next time I book a flight, I will go another route.
