So far, Slovenia! Not too crowded, very pittoresque, clean, relatively cheap (euros in use), friendly people who speak good English, lots of mountains in the north with cool climate, lots of sunshine and warm summers in the south (by the Adriatic Sea)...

Switzerland. Clean, nice people, great climbing, fantastic scenery, hot in the valleys-snow on the hills, not too far from home (U.K), good public transport, good food and beer
