What is the best and cheapest way to get from Malga Spain to Montpellier France?

  • I need to get from Malaga Spain to Montpellier France on either the 30 or 31st of December. The problem is, Ryan air does not go to Montpellier nor Marseille in the winter and I have a low budget. Any travel idea? Best airports and train stations to get to? I am not sure what is closed around this time either. Thanks so much for your help.

    You can do the trip by bus or train but, unfortunately, neither website is currently giving information for that far ahead. Train is obviously the quickest option. If the train times are the same on Friday, the 30th December as they are for the 9th December, then the best choice would be the 0820hrs from Malaga, which involves 1 change at Barcelona Sants, with a total journey time of 12hrs 49mins. Another train leaving at 0900hrs has 2 changes at Madrid & Barcelona.
