Where is a nice place to stay in Germany?

I live in Hamburg but I hate the city life. So I spend much time near Ratzeburg, in a place called 'Lauenburgische Seenplatte' (it's situated in Schleswig Holstein - the northmost Bundesland (~province) of Germany). Perfect for a turist. You are near to Hamburg, if you want to have some culture in between, but you live in a beautiful landscape with many lakes, forests and fields. You are near to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern too, where it's beautiful also. If you like canooing or cycling it's the right place for you. Try Aschaffenburg -- SE of Frankfurt Am Main. You won't encounter the hassles associated with Frankfurt itself, you can stay at a "Pension" (pronounced pen-zee-OHN in German -- rooms let out by government screened familes at VERY low rates), and you'll be near the Schwarzwald -- that's the Black Forest which is nice for camping.
