Where to go in Europe?

Where are the best places to go in Europe? please read.?

  • hey today at dinner my family and I were talking about where to go next summer. Im 15 by the way. and I was just wondering where the best places in europe are. Last year, we went to Amsterdam, Paris, and Belgium (Antwerp and Brugge). It was really fun! we are for sure going to Paris again since it was a great place. but then we came up with different plans. My dad's plan was to go from Paris to Berlin, then to Copenhagen, then to Warsaw, then Vienna, Switzerland, then back to Paris. (if u look at a map it goes in a circle) and i thought it was great. but my mom said its way too much countries, and there wont be time to rest. we are probably going there for about 10 days. My dad's other plan was to go to Paris and Just italy. but I want to go to Germany. and I want to go to the Auschwitz museum in poland. Where is the best places to go in Europe? Your Opinion:D

I'm an experienced traveler, and I've been all over Europe (and parts of Asia). I agree with you - your dad is trying to do too much in 10 days. Plus, going in a circle isn't really necessary because you can sometimes save a lot of money on airfare by arriving in one city and departing from another. The Auschwitz German Death Camp & Museum is definitely something to see, but it's nowhere near Warsaw. The closest big city is Krakow. I studied in Krakow last fall and planned a trip there for 22 college students this spring, and it is absolutely gorgeous. I'd like to move there permanently someday. The best thing to do is go to Krakow and sign up for a combination tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mine (it's more awesome than it sounds, lol) and Auschwitz. You can sign up at your hotel, and a local tour company will pick you up in the morning, take you to the Salt Mine for that tour, get you lunch, and then take you to Auschwitz for the afternoon. It's definitely an all-day thing. Vienna is great, but I think you should skip it this time. The 22 college students I sent to Krakow for 5 days this spring also spent 5 days in Vienna, and 21 out of 22 students (and all 3 chaperones) thought that Krakow was better. They saw the Vienna Boys Choir and everything, but they still preferred Krakow. Berlin is a very interesting city. It's got a little bit of everything. You'll see breath-taking monuments, like the Brandenburg Gate. Walk a few more blocks, and there are abandoned buildings that have been taken over by radical marxist artists and turned into communes. Eat traditional German food and beer in a pub, or go next door and eat some of the best Indian food you'll ever have in your life (or just stop by a Turkish street vender and order a doner). Why not fly into Paris, spend 3 days there, then hop over to Germany for 3 days in Berlin (you'll need 3 full days to see the main sites, unless you run around like crazy), then hop over to Poland for 4 days in Krakow (minus the 1 full day you'll spend doing the Auschwitz tour)?

I went to Warsaw earlier this year and there's not really that much to see there. If you want to go to Poland I'd recommend Krakow instead, it has a lot more historic buildings and some great places to eat. Auschwitz is about an hour away by bus if you want to see that. If you can, make sure you check out Prague in the Czech Republic, the place looks looks like a postcard with castles and church spires everywhere you look, and is easily my favourite European destination.

Go like this: London - Frankfurt - Warsaw - Kiev - Country you are from.
