Driving people around in MA on junior operators licence?

Is it true you can travel around the EU with just a valid EU driving licence?

  • I have a passport, but my boyfriend doesn't, however he does have a UK driving licence. Could we go to Spain this summer, me with my passport and him with his driving licence? I heard you could as the ID from your driving licence is usually enough just within the EU?

  • Answer:

No, a UK driving licence will not suffice. Your boyfriend must have a passport to enter Spain. http://ukinspain.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/living-in-spain/residence-req

Other answers

Since Brits don't have some sort of ID card, he must use passport instead. If he were from some other normal EU country, ID card will suffice for travel
