What IT Jobs Are In Demand?

What are the jobs that would most likely still be in demand 5-10 years from now in Europe?

  • I'm a freshman student from the Philippines pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. I'm going to shift to another program but I do not know which one. I am thinking of shifting to Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science or Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts, but my mom told me I wouldn't get any job abroad with those. Is it true? If it is true.. then what should I pursue if I want to work and permanently live abroad? (European countries: Italy / France / London / Ireland / Denmark / Neatherlands) what are the in demand jobs there and that would still be in demand after I graduate and get job experience? Won't Behavorial Science give me the chances of living abroad? thanks. Btw, if you're going to advice Architecture or Engineering, well, I'm no good with drawing and certainly no good with math also with computers. As for Science and med related degrees.. It's hard and I'm not really a smart straight A student, but if that's the only thing that could get me abroad.. well.. I'd have to consider it..

  • Answer:

We've got enough students with vague degrees like communication or arts we don't need to import those. Healthcare is indeed in demand an d will remain so for the next few decades. Anything engineering. Good construction workers like carpenters and brick layers but also skilled welders. I think if you can make the link from behavioural science to advertising you may have potential in your own country after all the middle classes that now work the call centers will be an attractive group of potential customers soon. Someone needs to help with selling them things.

With an aging population, the one thing most likely to remain in high demand is the healthcare field. Until the current unemployment rates come down significantly, there are not a lot of available jobs in any field.

Look into green energy jobs, there will be plenty of government incentives on that in the near future. It's not all about electrical engineering, some of it has totally different aspects to it. Just go down the Job opening list and see if anything catches your eye, and get whatever degree it calls for. This is a great way to choose your major by the way, your going to love it.

I think anything relating to Internet technology is a safe bet. The Bachelor of Arts thing won't really help you, I'm afraid.
