How long is the train from Paris to Nice?

How long would a train ride from Paris to Waterloo Belgium take?

  • Going to be in Paris for a while next summer and really wanted to visit the grounds at the Battle of Waterloo. Around how long would such an excursion take and cost? I'm coming into Paris possible by way of Southern Germany so it might be feasible to ask the reverse in how long and much would it be from Waterloo to Paris also.

  • Answer:

There is no direct train connection between Paris and Waterloo. The fastest way would be to take the eurostar to Brussels midi and then you have 3 options: -Get there yourself with the public transport as waterloo isn't very far from brussels and then take a tour at waterloo. I must inform you that the public transport in Belgium is not reliable - You could take a private tour with for example this guy: http://www.waterloobattlefieldtours.com/index.php -Hop on a tour bus in brussels that visits waterloo(Not sure if there are many of those) Price: Paris-Brussels midi: 60 € +- Brussels-Waterloo: - Public transport: 5-10 € - Private tour: Negotiable. Time: Paris- Brussels: 2 hours +-, depending what kind of train you take (TGV, Eurostar,...) Brussels -Waterloo: Public transport:30min - a few hours. Taxi/car: 20-30 minutes. You can find more information about Waterloo here: http://www.waterloo.be/en/vie-pratique/la-carte-touristique/maison-du-tourisme-307
