High school travel groups?

Looking for a travel buddy for Europe. Any suggestions as to how to find one?

So pretty much, I'm seventeen years young--a senior in high school, graduating this June. My family is allowing me to travel to Europe to do some backpacking/sight-seeing for a several months (give or take); however I don't know that I'd want to do the trip entirely on my own, just because I'm somewhat safety conscious, being a young girl in a foreign country. Any suggestions of travel sites or groups that help out fellow free-spirited travelers like myself? I thought about craigslist, but that just doesn't seem like the place to go. I know there has to be some more travel oriented sites. Help!
