Family Holiday ideas?

I need Great family Holiday ideas in Europe? Help!?

  • Its the time of year again when we book our family holiday. We live in Ireland and use Dublin and Cork airports. We only use Ryanair as our airline as its the only airline that offers value for money unlike Aer Lingus. There are 4 people in our family 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 9. We don't like built up coastal areas such as Spain's coastal resorts and no camping or resorts such as those in Spain. These are the destinations that we have been and liked last year we flew into pisa airport from Dublin all 4 of us for only 300 euro and we booked in early January what a deal. We explored all of Tuscany and Florence and Then went to the Cinque Terre the scenery and activities there were breath taking and fabulous. We would like something like this this year. We have been to Rome, Paris, No UK Destinations either please, Lake Garda, Venice, Tuscany. Cinque Terre, Florence. These places were beautiful and fantastic. We liked them because the cities were beautiful like Rome and Florence and the scenery was absoluetely OMG. We like to stay in hotels aswell. This year we are having trouble finding a destination we are willing to travel around the place like we did in Tuscany to the Cinque Terre and Lake Garda to Venice. We assumed that we were going to be able to go to Sicily ( for the beautiful scenery, towns, sea, mt.etna. etc) this year but it seems that on Ryanairs route map that they have stopped flying there from Dublin or Cork. If you are going to make a suggestion could you please first check that Ryanair or an equally cheap airline fly there from Dublin or Cork Thank you. A place that would keep us going for a 1 week. As you can see this is what we like beatiful towns wonderful scenery with plenty to do in a nice climate. We plan to travel in the first 2 weeks in June. Thank you for reading all this. Much appreciated. I NEED SUGGESTIONS FAST OTHERWISE THE CHILDREN WILL BE DEVESTATED PLEASE. Thank you again

Have you considered Bratislava, Slovakia? Ryaniar flies there from Dublin. Bratislava is great, and under-rated in my opinion. It is smaller, but very similar to Prague, with fewer tourists (and that means that hotels and nearly everything else are more affordable). And in June the weather is lovely. I could go on and on about Bratislava, but check out this site for a good description of the city and for ideas for what you and your family can do while you're there: http://wikitravel.org/en/Bratislava For hotels in Bratislava, check out this hotel directory and price comparison site: http://www.cehotelier.com/hotels-directory/all-hotels/slovakia/bratislava On that site they have maps, photos, and amenities info for each hotel. Once you find a hotel that looks good, put in your travel dates and it will show room rates for that hotel from several travel websites, so can book through the site that offers the best deal. I highly recommend Bratislava for your family vacation!

I say Slovenia. Or Portugal. I think there's a direct flight going to Portugal, but you'd need to get off in Salzburg or Venice to get to Slovenia. But it's well worth it. It's not far anyway. It's a small country but got plenty to do for 2 weeks or more. Your kids would love the caves, Lipizzaner stud farm, awesome lakes, mountains, Ljubljana the capital is a wonderful city. Visit some coastal towns too. And stay in one of many tourists farms.
