Can anyone recommend a family holiday resort in Croatia?

Hi - I'm looking for a nice, family-friendly holiday resort in Croatia for this summer. Two adults and the kids will be 9 and 7 (a young 9 and 7!). Needs to have some basic features: - Very accessible pool - Nice beach and sea to swim in nearby - preferably within walking distance - Not a mega-hotel or mega-village - prefer the more independent feel - Be nice to be in or close to a small town for the usual evening promenading, etc. - Would probably want to hire a car for occasional sightseeing, so things around to see would be good, as would easy car-parking - Decent standard of accommodation - doesn't need to be 5*, but also don't want 1* - Accessible from an airport - within a couple of hours is fine - Amenities for the kids - simple stuff is fine - don't need fun parks, etc. If anyone has any recommendation, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
