Anyone been on a Contiki or Topdeck tour?

I found a really good tour in the topdeck brochure that goes to all the countries that I want to visit (Spain, France, Italy and Greece) in 16 days. I can't go any longer because I'm still at uni and I'm going in my semester break. There is a similar tour by Contiki. I'm just wondering how long do you actually spend exploring and visiting places in these countries? The tour covers quite a long distance in just 16 days and I don't want to end up spending half my time on the coach. Do you recommend contiki or topdeck and why?

Some of my friends have been on contiki tours and they said that the tour was mainly partying and by the time you got to the sight seeing everyone was too tired and basically everything was a weird blur. The second time they went they used Bus-about which they said was much better for seeing the sights and actually experiencing the culture of the different countries not just partying.
